Who are you?

Somewhere between making the folder and organising my writing and the arrival of the first editor, I discovered I had a character I could not name and, so far, he would not tell me.

Finally one day as I drove through China town...ah now I wonder if the location is relevent? - I was thinking of him, as one does in a small to medium traffic jam -I must have been on my scooter as I dont have a car - and in my minds eye I saw him.

He was facing away from me. A Tall, fine and traditionally dressed Chinese man.

I asked him in my mind (it doesnt bare to be seen talking to oneself on a scooter and of course there is no radio to pretend to be singing along to)

'Who are you'?
He turned and bowed very low,and introduced himself.

Ah ha! An ah ha - epiphany writer's moment.

Later, I realised he had given me his full tittle and status within his family, but not his actual, personal name.

To this day I do not know what it is.
