Today Tonight & Writing

I am to be out at the Andrew Denton movie tonight (see 'Fields of Observation' Blog - in the Index) -

thus today will be my first attempt at writing NaNo in the daylight hours.

But first some more sleep...

I am running a spell check etc - but not editing, - each morning, of the night before's work.

always a good thing and small edits are okay - rereading the night's or day's before work always help jumpstart your thinking process - and remember to leave off in the middle of something so you can pick up the next day so you can really get creative juices flowing. I see on NaNo under the authors page that several have already topped the 50,000 words and we are now only 18-1/2 hours into the month (roughly - but I know you aussies are that plus 16) and there is one guy who is in Arizona and has posted over 50,000 words or so he says - and that's 2 hours behind me - so that means he is only 14-1/2 hours into and this was posted like 3 or 4 hours ago - boggles my mind who someone can just write over 300 pages in less than 12 hours - I think they posted nothing but garbage - and are just cheating themselves by not accepting the challenge of doing the whole thing over a month's time - I know several who have done 40,000 words in a couple of weeks but that is also holding down a full time job and other things going on - so I know it's possible to accomplish a great deal in a short amount of time - but common someone who joined yesterday and posts 50,000 words today? - I probably do 50,000 words a day on my job but I don't ever think about it (naw - I couldn't do that many words a day - lol maybe 10,000)

Anyway - keep up the good work - you are progressing quite nicely - E :)

elysabeth....thanks for your encouragement. And the website.

I guess it depends on your motivation for doing Nano...for me it is a kick start on Book 2.

Sure, external acknowledgement is great, but for me it is the journey, not particularly the destination.
Although, I wouldn't get on the train if I didn't like where I was going.
