It seems that strawberries grew in North and South America.
They were not quite what we now know as them.
Plants from North America were taken to France and there they we replanted.
Plants arrived from South America and were planted along side the north American ones.
One lot was girls and one lot was boys. And Voila what we now know as strawberries came to pass...
In approx 1835 the new plant creation was returned to Boston...
which suits my writing purposes very well - time wise.

i like this posting about strawberries and glad it fits your storyline - sometimes it is so hard to find the correct information but when you do - it is a big sense of accomplishment - E :)
