I just spoke to my mother re this article, and she said that years agowhen she was a budding and hopeful politican that she received acall from PW's secretary inviting her to ' come for Tea' so off shewent. He asked her to keep their meeting private. He had variousquestions re her politcal stand point - she was standing for the our equivilent of the USA Congress....but now that he is long gone she felt she could tell. I said to her that as she tells people she can say ' you know my daughter and Patrick White were rejected by the samepublisher!!'
